Regardless.

Razor blades sold for stripping paint seem to be a choice of many members, unless the tank is acrylic but you aid you didn't want to reseal them so i assume they are glass.

There are many accounts of people using vinegar, however I've used standard tap water.

Soap, oxyclean, and any other chemicals run there risks that you will need to be willing to take...like you said you have 10 so id assume razor and warm water would eat threw the main stuff...and later on down the road you can work on the tanks that still bug you.

Wow this is like the Fifth thread I've started and it Exploded with help (the others, not so much)

Well guys I don't like razor blades in my experience the tanks always end up scratched, I'd rather preserve the dinosaurs and use something gentler. I bought 3 liters of Carbon to remove cemicals with (during the cycle) I'm gonna use dish soap, sorry please forgive me. I'll rinse rinse and rinse agian. Then run it for a long time do lots of water changes and use all that carbon and get some more.

Ouch. Soap is extremely toxic to most aquatic life even in trace amounts. Don't put any fish in those tanks unless you want them dead. All you had to do was fill them and let them sit awhile, then go back and rub the stuff off. Vinegar is very safe and will break down most deposits over the course of a few hours.
