The background wont stay taped to the inside of my tank and my fish are stuck behind it.

 Now that is funny.

My favorite is "Well I have had suckers before and I've seen them eat poop."

"i don't need to do water changes, my tank has a filter on it"

The feeder goldfish as bait, is resonable, like as a food source I guess. They wind up as food anyway.

Here in North America we have goldfish spread over much of the country. Much of this is due to bait bucket introductions, other fish have been spread this way as well. Lots of fishermen dump the remainder of their bait into the water when they are done fishing. It is now illegal to use them but I know people still do and have met some who have.

"Look at that algae, your tank must be dirty. You need to get a pleco". I hear that one often in my house from visitors. My tanks are clean, they just gets lots of natural sunlight so algae grows quickly. They automatically think the tank is dirty and a pleco would fix that for me. It really is shocking how so many people think algae is a bad thing in the aquarium.

Found this on my local craigslist...
1.5 gallon aquarium for sale-- includes filter and filter cartridge, air pump, lamp, tubing, power converter, two plants and gravel. $25- (I only used this tank for one week-- I decided I preferred my goldfish to remain in his simple no frills bowl.)

WOW!!

I found someone on craigslist not too long ago in Kansas City that had a 55 for sale, wanted $200 for everything, included a very small filter, and 3 full sized oscars, a pacu, and a pleco, and to top it all off, she said they eat DOG FOOD so it's cheap to feed them!

Well, I don't work at a petstore or anything, but these I just some I come by when I go to the petstore to get some fish flakes or something. Real classics....

At Petsmart:
Person 1: "My red fish is SO big. It's this big!" *holds up hands that are 5 inches apart*
Person 2: "Wow, that's huge!"

At Petsmart:
Random Guy: "Why does beta keep on dying? *asking a employee at the petstore*
Me: *overhearing conversation* "Did you feed it?"
Random Guy: "No, there's plenty of roots it can eat."
Me: Roots? What roots?
Random Guy: I keep it in a small glass vase with bamboo. My friend told me they eat it.

At Walmart:
Little Kid: "That tank is HUGE!!! It's bigger than mine!!! *points to a 20 gallon*
Man: "Well, would you like that for your birthday?" You can put some of those oscar fish in there, some nice goldfish, a few of those colorful fish over there...." *points to a tank full of guppies* "... A sucker fish to clean the tank... Anything you want."
Little Kid: "YAY!!! I want it right now!"

At Petco(I think):
Random Guy(not the same one): "The water in my tank is cloudy, what should I do?"
Employee: "When was the last time you changed your water?"
Random Guy: "Change the water? Why do I need to do that? I have a big sucker fish."

"Look! A Nemo fish!!"I swear, if I hear one more person call those things a Nemo fish...

Actually heard this one at a LFS. "My betta jumped out of his bowl. You never said that they could jump, I want a refund."
