Haha I'm fine honestly, and deeply appreciate the help! :)

Just gutting when things don't go smoothly lol, all part of fishkeeping though! :)

Exactly.

It might be worth noting that he now has a smallish GT in a big tank filled with large anubias. You'd probably have to feed the GT a good bit for cycling to occur properly, unless anubias use far less ammonia than I imagine.

I've also wondered this, I'm going to sort a group of danios out perhaps; at least then they'll keep the plants going until the GT gets big enough and eats them, and produces enough ammonia by himself.

I agree manu, just looking for a cause for future reference and OP have an answer as to why. :)

What ich medication are you using?

Have you tested for ammonia or nitrite to see if there is any present? That should be the first thing you do. Salt will prevent nitrite poisoning in your fish, but if there is ammonia you'll have to either add a dechlor product or do a water change.

I don't think it's a cycling issue. If it is, it's a very minor one, because you have detectable nitrates.

What was the medication you were using? That could be what caused your cloudy water.

ammonia fine , .25 not cause a bloom IMHO, and just from my experience will not ever get a dead yellow on ammonia unless you drop on the floor on a cream carpet and look down at it. Nitrates are looking a bit high, but again this not cause cloudy water. hows the water now? has it corrected itself?
