Use a powerhead if you feel your gonna lack flow when the canisters flow gets diminished by not being cleaned.
Trust me it is still every bit as effective, even though the flow is diminished.

Until your pump motor burns out.

Stable balance, and slow and steady is always better than fiddling.

Obviously, everything in moderation still
I haven't cleaned one of my canisters for over a year, and the flow seems only a little less, and it is still absolutely silent.
All i use my canister for is a big batch of never ending BB, while i use sponges and powerheads for the tank.

Ok guys i think the problem is overfeeding , im a sucker to these fish and i believe it is because of overfeeding , i cannot find out another problem. This sucks , whatever you guys do , please do not overfeed.
