my pair of royal clownknifefish are 7 years old and 38" long. they eat live lampam fish and killi catfish!

people say that the common ones are meant to grow slightly larger but i guess it really depends on the individual fish and how they are kept! they can both grow very very LARGE

nope i havent had the heart to replace the paima after the last one died! just waiting for the tank to empty out + a future expansion of the pond. the more space the better! i wana be fully equipt this time round. plus im gona get a pair of pimas since they do better in schools wen young!

they usually grow very fast until around 16-20'' when they slow down a bit. the lfs near me gets tons of yearlings around that size. royal cks tend to get bigger. the shedd in chicago has (or used to?) have some pretty huge ones around 34-40'' (?), i was stunned when i saw the size of them! i'm assuming they were very old fish though.

Bigger space makes them grow big. Most people keep them in a 180g or smaller and they end up stopping at around 18".
