Clown loach prices

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sadly, I didn't do any better. Worst in fact since I had to drive all over the places and haggle. These 2 today I picked eats Tetra bits and the black bands are more black than just about all of mine existing ones.
Were they newly imported also or out of a hobbyist tank ... had mine a week they eat live blackworms and brine but not with gusto yet ... first time with big guys like this my smallest ones will take good out of my hand hopefully they will help acclimate he bigger ones

I remember watching one of Cory's 800 gallon YouTube videos about him adding 12" wild caught clown loaches to his 800 gallon tank.

I have to watch it again but if I remember correctly, he said he paid $200 for each, minimum order of two. That's almost certainly his wholesale price. I remember thinking how that's seemed like a great deal. I drove around to most of the Chicago area stores and besides the tiny ones, I only saw five bigger loaches for sale (that's after visiting 8-9 LFS). One place has a 3-4" one someone turned in for store credit and they want $40 for it. Other place had four 4" ones for $47.99 each.

I did talk to an owner at a store that I will probably buy most of my fish from whose store I really like. He said something about it being the end if loach season (this was like a month ago).

BTW, the baby loach prices are high here. The guy I like has healthy fish and good prices and he is selling his smaller ones $10 each or 3 for $25.

Another store that seems to take good care of their tanks but has higher prices wants $14 for Clowns even smaller. This other place I don't think has good tanks wants $12 for the tiniest loaches that had a dead one in the tank. Five days later, I went back and like 60% were gone. I think most died as I doubt they sold that many.

Blood worms are like crack to my clown loaches. I am cutting them off slowly.

He said he was going to sell them at $200-$250 each when he unpacked them at his local fish shop. Then 2 weeks later he added into his own tank. I think he gets fishes cheaper because he is on the west coast.

Thanks. I was just about to go search for the video when I saw your reply as I didn't realize he had done an unboxing video. Going to watch it now.

That’s a phenomenal price because I got mine wholesale at that price ...
