wow, thanks for this thread!...one of my CL's just started doing this "sleeping" thing too ...i thought that something was wrong..now thanks to this thread i can stop waking him up!, lol ..i'm sure he appreciates it too

No problem. I thought the same thing you did, that something was wrong. Now I know that he just likes taking naps. Like me!

They are doing this because of a lack of hiding places. Add a pile to give them some comfort.

Lol! don't look at me! That's my wifes setup! She wouldn't let me even offer an opinion about how the tank should look. She just said "This is my tank! You have your tank and this is mine so it's gonna look however I want it to look!" I was like Oooooook! I like the natural look myself, but she had this "idea" in her head about some grand mixture of blue and green and how awesome it would be. I've learned a long time ago to just shake my head and say "Yeah baby whatever you want, consider it done!"

Ugh, that gravel is terrible, but loaches are still great anyway. Tell her that her tank looks great!

It scared the crap out of me the first time my loaches layed on their sides and "napped". I looked it up and found out that is how they sleep. I love watching them play as I just put mine in a 75 I just bought from a 30 and they love it as they play doing somersaults and barrel rolling in the current from my filters.

Yeah I love fish with personality. The more I have learned about clown loaches the more I like them. I plan to get some more so that the one I have has some to hang out with.
