This is the new fish to my collection i got him because i herd they eat snails and i have a little snail problem. i was just wondering how fast do clown loaches grow and whats the best thing i can feed him

they grow slow for most fish, even slower after 4" but get up to 12". they'll eat anything but enjoy snails, algae waffers, sinking pellets and anything else you throw in but try to mix it up.

Qs for you:
whats the tank size?
list other fish?
only get one? better in 3+ groups. lone CLs tend to hide all the time, get lonely and die. they are social fish and almost require large groups. ask EWURM. I've got 8-9 in my tank and never keep in groups -3

Yup, they can grow pretty fast in the first year - up to 3 or 4 inches. After that they slow down, maybe only growing 1" per year. Of course they can live a long time and get pretty big, maybe 12" in an aquaruim.

They are MUCH happier in a group. If you dont have room for several I suggest you take it back and get some smaller loaches. I have zebra loaches in one of my tanks, just as much fun as clown loaches, also eat snails but only grow to 4" max.

the pictus may compete for bottom food and get at least two more loaches. make sure they arent eatable for the needles. maybe get some smooth rock and stack in the back for loaches to hide. river stone works great

ya i made sure of that when i bout this one. with the fish i have how many should i get so i dont over croud the thank becuse i want them all the be happy and healthy
