Thanks.
I got good growth out of them last summer and expect the same in the coming months. Biggest is 24"+. I don't need to do much as far as maintenance on the pond during winter months.

Really nice! You need to post more pics, vids, and update on this pond so I can live vicariously through your pond. Man I wish masheer weren't illegal here. I did just get some phoenix barbs though, that's almost a masheer lol.

Wonder why mahseers are illegal? The biggest one in my pond is a phoenix barb (spinibarbus). I've posted a ton of videos on youtube (mahseer pond). These guys are easier to keep than kois. Thanks for the compliment.

Great youtube vids! How big is that phoenix barb and when did it start getting good color? Mine are only 6" and are just silver, just the slightest hint of red coming in on their fins.

Also can you tell me what type of cartridge filter you are cleaning in that video? I've been thinking about adding some sort of cartridge filter after my bead filter to help polish the water.

Yeah I got tired of kois too. Been messing with them for over 20 years. Tried every koi pond filter out there.
My mahseer pond only has a wlim UV and mechanical. In fact, the molded pond is wlim too. The mechanical polishes the water year round. I rinse it once a month. Any mechanical should be before the biological. Mahseer and spinibarbus colors pop during the warm summer months. Colors develop at 10". Spinibarbus is over 24". The neo hex are about 18". Others are smaller.
