Coldwater collecting trip with pics

What's better than a collecting trip with a bunch of your hobbyist friends? Nothing!
Collection sites near Eagle Creek in Central Indiana. The water was cold, our feet were numb, but all of that seems like nonsense when so many cool fish are being netted up.

Green Sunfish

Brindled Madtom
Longear Sunfish

This is a dobsonfly larvae. As adults they are one of the largest and most frightening looking insects in North America.

Thats pretty cool all the fish we can in ponds here are normally guppys =(

dobson fly as an adult......that would freak me out if it landed on my arm..or something....yuk
