got up this morning and the lump was bigger, so i dident feed him.

just got in from work and the lump has gone.

smashed up some worms with prawn and pellets again let it soak for 10 mins then chucked it in. he dived on it and went threw it. he just made a mess blowing it around in the tank but he is continueing to go threw it picking at it. i havenet actually seen him eat but he is acting like he is eating. no sighn of a a round belly as yet though. still very sunken.

i hope hes doing better... @ leats hes in NOW in great hands...glad to hear he is doing good so far..

no interst in food today. just sitting still by himself breathing slowly.

just wondering if i have been over feeding him the last couple of days and he isnt used to it. belly is well sunken again now back to the pelvic bones wanting to rip threw the skin.

lights are on low as i dont want him stressed anymore then he already is.

Doesnt sound very good Dave,to suddenly go off food whilst in this emaciated condition could mean the ray is in the early stages of organ failure......i hope im wrong!
Sometimes Rays will eat worms that are dug fresh from the garden rather than those red compost worms, these two are two different species,if youve noticed when you chopped the compost worms up they have a very strong smell, garden worms dont,i have found they will often take these when they ignore the others..give it a try.
If by tomorrow the spiracle repetitions have speeded up yet the Ray is still at rest i would prepare for the worst. It was always a gamble this fish,i hope it pays off for you.
Good luck.

doesn't look to bad

i will call you back tomorrow mate I'm out now on the iphone

got him to eat 2 worms yesterday. today he is more active then he was and he has eaten a small amount. he is moving around with the other rays alot better today so fingers crossed he is on the up. i think the next few days will be the decider wether he is going to pull threw.

i just about stuffed the worms in him mouth to start him eating. once he started to eat one he seemed more intrested and actually found the second one himself.
