In the last couple of days the posts that I have been watching, it seems like a number of people here have degrees in something aqua related or plan on pursuing.

I am just wondering how many different degrees are there on this subject?
If you do have them, what kind of jobs become available to you?
Is it worth it?

Culinary...I cook them however you order them

Nice, im far from aquatics as i have a degree in business administration and computer applications but i come from a family full of doctors and nurses. So healing fish interests me a lot. :)

if u really like studying fish, then go for it. some ppl i have talked to say it is hard training

I think most places will look at your knowledge and hand on time over a degree. (However this doesn't mean what you keep at home, they look for volunteer time and actual paid work.)
Alot of various degrees can be found, though. The first one everyone throws out in threads like this is usually marine biology. Sadly, it's so common, that it doesn't stand out when applying for a job. Wildlife biology or any biology really is a good thing to have. There are degrees in aquaculture as well.

I have yet to work in a place where my college education has been applied. :screwy: Most of what you need to know on a daily basis, you pick up first hand.

yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. Don't think im really learning anything useful in school right now. :swear:

Aquaculture with a concentration in aquatic science. I could get a job for the state or work in a hatchery. If I decide to further my education I plan on skipping marine biology and going icthyology...nothing but fish.
