Compared to working a real 9-5 (and after having done so for a while), I bet you'll find school to be a piece of cake. Like people have said above, if you have special test-taking needs, most schools will happily accommodate.

Seriously wish you the best in your new endeavor, and I'm sure you'll be happy you made the decision to go back to school!

Besides, 36 is the new 16.

learning is cool, no matter how you do it. it keeps your brain youthful and healthy. look up brain plasticity. nothing but benefits to working your mind in new ways.

Ive got anxiety with tests and trouble focusing in loud classrooms .. lots of online classes are good....
...I drive so much for work that I keep telling myself I will not want to drive to school,....
..Outside of some good people in my life, I rely on my faith for this strength and it has helped tons..

For sure, get on campus eval for learning issues related to classroom environments! The school has to accommodate those probs., and it's common.
Online classes might be a better fit as a starting point. The extra driving isn't necessarily 'an excuse', when other options are available. Being realistic about managing limits of time, energy, & coping reserves is important for short term encouragement, and over the long haul.
On the other hand, some people really need the classroom structure for staying on track.

Incorporate the tools of your faith into decision-making.
Consider How you seek guidance, Where you get good counsel. Compare past choices of both positive & negative outcome,
what led those choices, and what you disregarded at the outset.
You will learn from this, and it'll be great!

I know a lady who went back for her GED when she was over 70yrs old :-) She had a blast.

Been very busy, but I wanted to get back on here to say thank you to each one of you for your time and reply's. Too kind. Found good humor and great advice throughout these posts, thanks so much.

Jason,
When I was in college some of the best students were the older ones that were dedicated and didn't waste their time out partying like the young kids did. Go for it! You will be proud of yourself when you look back.

gee, you're not old at all, just older "than" the kids straight out of high school.
Picture a lady 70+ yrs old working on her GED 'just to get it done', and you should feel very young. LOL.
Many people your age are in college ;-)

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Keep it up bud, its never 2 late....

Yeah majority are kids but there are still lots of people in their late 20s and 30s, and I see people much older than that. I got a guy on one of my classes looks to be in his 50s. I will be 32 in April, I think I fit in pretty well I don't feel like this older guy that is out of place at all.
