college majors

I have a BS in Zoology, a BA in Spanish, and MS marine Biology and an MAT in TESOL. After teaching adjunct at a local state University for a while I have decided to go get my PhD. I am in my second year. I am still not sure if the PhD will be in Zoology or Fisheries Conservation at UCONN.

I would prefer Zoology, but I haven't found a local professor willing to take me as a grad student in that field, so I will continue my work in the Fisheries Conservation Program as I really don't want to relocate. I am married and a home owner, moving to another state would be very complicated.

It is interesting to be Professor at one school at Schmuck grad student at another.

too many teachers that are in grad school and teaching some classes at community college. they all seem overloaded with work lol. some were professors, others idk

Yup, that is exactly where I am at. I teach a pair of 300 level classes at a medium sized 4 year college.

How do I grade the term papers just turned in when if I don't get my own written I am going to fail!


The school I teach at runs just about a week longer than the one I attend. The dean wants my final exams written and submitted to the Dept head a week before they are to be taken, and that falls during finals week where I am taking exams. Trying to write an exam and prepare for an exam at the same time is a monumental task.

Overworked is a very safe bet. My husband is a saint. He gets about 4-6 weeks each semester where I am married not to him but to my computer. He does the dishes, laundry, grocery shopping and the cooking....The only household task he won't do is clean my fish tanks.

I started my Christmas shopping this year on Dec 23, it was my first day off since July. I ate my Thanksgiving meal with a pen in my hand.
 
dang. sounds like something i would do if my gf was that busy with school. one of my teachers taught at a 4 year school, and interim and the community college i was going to, then would be getting calls from the government to go do research studies lol.
