Black aros are still going strong and actually still growing. I wonder how long these guys will live? Nice to update your own old threads.

Great looking fish!!!! I remember seeing your pics from the previous page in the dead fish thread and cringing, s--- happens tho. As for the lifespan, I'd be interested to find out too. I've finally settled down in a house I plan on living in for many many years, have a great little black growing out in a 400L tank, and have started plans for something ~1600-2000L downstairs to house it "for life", although I have no idea just how long that actually is!

I have had these guys since Sept/2008. I started with 4 and sold off the other two as these are a pair. During this period my female stopped eating for 3 months but she is back as fine as ever. Never had any problems with the male.

Thanks. That was my very first black arowana. After that I tried to replace all those fish I lost and pretty much did except for the fire eel.
