hated nls,none of my fish will eat it(biggest waste of money on food i ever spent)had to go with hikari,have had great experience with it, as far as color enhancing(veggies bring out the blue and krill brings out the red)when i started feeding my fish romaine lettuce and peas,and freeze dried krill three time a week,their colors became insane. you can not substitute for certain nature ingredients. Just pick a pellet your fish will eat,and add a variety to therte diet and you will see a color difference,no matter what pellet you use. When it come down to it all pellets are pretty much the same(just worded different on the ingredient label)to make use think we are buying a superior brand. you can call starch by 8 different names but it is still starch bottom line.
