I've got it in all my tanks now except for a couple 10 tanks. It's not as lightweight as pool sand at all nor as fine.

According to the msds sheet on 3m's site its .21mm and the 20 grade pfs I have is supposed to be .85mm. I guess I will just have to pick some up and see

I picked up some tan colorquartz today. I am not sure if I like the color though, but it is a lot finer than the pool filter sand I get from Leslie's Pool Supply. Here is a picture for reference for anyone trying to figure out the size of s-grade colorquartz vs pfs. The lighter colored larger grains in the picture is the pfs, the smaller kind of orange grains is the colorquartz.

I think T grade is much more conducive to an aquarium. I use T grade and I couldnt be happier. Before I had Colorquartz I used PFS and this stuff is so much better IMO.

I've never seen pool filter sand in that big of grain. The only kind I've used is HBH (?)-can't quite remember the brand but it's not that big. My S grade 3M is real soft and heavy. That's why I like it so well. I agree though-that orange color looks way too 60's, doesn't it? Makes me think of the orange shag carpet from back then :)

Yeah, I didnt realize tan would be so orange. What color do you use? black?

S grade is extremely fine. I have not seen good a comparison of it and T grade, however (all the pictures of them together seem to be poor quality images)

I will probably use T grade next time I buy more though.

I've got black, tan (looks brick colored), gray (light silver) mixed with plum and I've got the dark brown in my 250 g tank. I want the black for my 250 g tank, I'm waiting for an energy surge because it's going to be such a pain to switch it :-)
