im going to get rid of mine as i dont want to set up a large saltwater tank in the future. Or can i put him in my 55 cichlid tank? Would he survive? Im going to acclimate him now!

Well since he's already In a brackish tank its a no. Also you just said you know what you need up take care of them why ignore that........ that is dumb in my opinion

Right about brackish. They will die quite young if you try to keep them in fresh for life.
