you are under the mis-informrd notion that taxes only benifit the poor....( fox noise talking point...)the benifits of taxation are shared equally (the school you went to ....roads ....cheaper ,subsidized food.....social security for everyone national defense )the list goes on.....

No im under the correct notion that if I earn money, you arnt entitled to it. Ill pay my taxes for roads, simple services(im against public schools) but thats all. I dont want subsidized food, or that crap.

They fall under simple services. I do believe our police could be cut by a good bit, as could military.

We should have a national switch the rich around day. Let a poor family switch with a wealthy family and blow 5k on whatever they want. Then let a rich family switch with a poor family and let them pay the bills for a week at minimum wage. That'll clarify a few things.

I'm not starting anything, just wanted to at least post something before the lock is in.

the 'truth' is banks now control all the money without having to pay us for the shared use.....this is achieved by giving people who cant manage money credit cards and allowing them to go into debt....banks then live off of the interest created by this debt.....in the 'old' days the banks needed us to put money in them ,so they had to offer interest bearing savings accounts...people saved for things and always had a chance to be 'well off' at almost any income level as long as they weren't stupid with their money ...now almost anyone can be 'poor' (at any income level)by mismanaging their debt/.....dont chime in about 401k plans,,, these can go belly up real easy in a bad market(2008), then people panic and sell off too low.. the bottom line on poverty is the rich are killing the middle class with debt....and think us 'lazy'or disabled people deserve what we get .....union killing and tax breaks that arent needed just make it worse...if you really think you are overtaxed fine, start up your own society and youcan pay 100%expenses on building roads ..schools ..transportation libraries ,,sanitation ..and on and on...good luck with that

Or cut the tax rates for all, boost the economy and give the businesses the break they need to grow, and get jobs created to where the unemployment rate goes down and MORE people are paying taxes. The problem isn't the rich paying too little, it's the poor paying nothing. Which they shouldn't if they aren't able too, but if there were more jobs that payed well I think people would love to be making enough money to pay taxes! Let capitalism work! It's what makes America great!

Or cut the tax rates for all, boost the economy and give the businesses the break they need to grow, and get jobs created to where the unemployment rate goes down and MORE people are paying taxes. The problem isn't the rich paying too little, it's the poor paying nothing. Which they shouldn't if they aren't able too, but if there were more jobs that payed well I think people would love to be making enough money to pay taxes! Let capitalism work! It's what makes America great!

the poor don,t pay nothing(sales tax , payroll tax ...ss tax) ...but I agree 100% that everyone (mostly)wants to help shoulder the burden

great idea.....I have been on both sides of the fence in my life.....to tell the truth things are a bit happier for me without the mis-guided notion that wealth =happy

I ask all the government/tax haters - what kind of country do you want to live in?

Me, I want to live in a country of educated people that have opportunities to do something with their lives. If you want people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, why not equip them with an education. I love living in a country where everybody can get an education regardless of their background. Do you want to be a laughing stock to the rest of the world? Some people judge a society by how the lowest people are treated. You want uneducated, hungry people lining the streets? Move to India or some third world country if you want that.

I'll gladly pay my taxes for education, roads, police, military, food stamps and welfare. Of course fraud is a different story, but just because there's fraud doesn't mean you eliminate the programs. Find those people and punish them, don't punish everybody else.

And right now, taxes are lowest they've ever been for rich people. I don't think raising a few percentage points is going to doom business. Business was very successful in the 50's when the tax rates were much higher. I wouldn't go back to those rates, but we can go to the 90's rates without damaging the ability to do business.

Again I ask what kind of country do you want to live in. There's countries with no taxes and no educational system. What's stopping you from going there and living out your free existence? Please go and stop complaining about this country...
