I ask all the government/tax haters - what kind of country do you want to live in?

Me, I want to live in a country of educated people that have opportunities to do something with their lives. If you want people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, why not equip them with an education. I love living in a country where everybody can get an education regardless of their background. Do you want to be a laughing stock to the rest of the world? Some people judge a society by how the lowest people are treated. You want uneducated, hungry people lining the streets? Move to India or some third world country if you want that.

I'll gladly pay my taxes for education, roads, police, military, food stamps and welfare. Of course fraud is a different story, but just because there's fraud doesn't mean you eliminate the programs. Find those people and punish them, don't punish everybody else.

And right now, taxes are lowest they've ever been for rich people. I don't think raising a few percentage points is going to doom business. Business was very successful in the 50's when the tax rates were much higher. I wouldn't go back to those rates, but we can go to the 90's rates without damaging the ability to do business.

Again I ask what kind of country do you want to live in. There's countries with no taxes and no educational system. What's stopping you from going there and living out your free existence? Please go and stop complaining about this country...

I don't hate gov. Or taxes. But I do hate gov. Thinking they need to be in the middle of Everything. And taxes are essential but raising them will not help as much as people think. If you tax the top 1%, 100% of there income for a year it would run the governments spending for something like 63 days. That's 100%.

Or cut the tax rates for all, boost the economy and give the businesses the break they need to grow, and get jobs created to where the unemployment rate goes down and MORE people are paying taxes. The problem isn't the rich paying too little, it's the poor paying nothing. Which they shouldn't if they aren't able too, but if there were more jobs that payed well I think people would love to be making enough money to pay taxes! Let capitalism work! It's what makes America great!

the ONLY reservation I HAVE WITH YOUR STATEMENT is lowering taxes is not an insurance policy to a way out of a recession(2nd worst in history)the tried and true way is thru jobs (govt. or private )this is created thru spending (the deficit can be dealt with in a good economy and is not an IMMENANT THREAT (ss and medicare wont bankupt us for 20 or more yrs) yes businesses need stimulating ..but spending ,not tax cuts will revive the economy quickly...AND the economy wont FULLY recover untill housing prices recover(at least a little)and that has nothing to do with ANY tax breaks....

were has de-regulating left us ? in the worst economy in 80 yrs. the bank crisis was DIRECTLY caused by less regs on housing loans

they also pocket way more of tax cuts ..100%of cuts given to middle class will be spent ..... far more than tax cuts for the rich ....much of that ends up in a trust fund for jr. (instead of a job....)

I agree taxes should be lowered for the middle class as well I'm not asking for tax hikes for anyone. Why not lower all the rates, and cut out unnecessary government spending. And I mean the truly unnecessary spending.

anothr nice fox noise talking point ...but.....reducing already historicly low taxes wont fuel the economy ...it really is science not opinion ...spending is the ONLY proven fix of a bad economy ...
