common cichlids

I'm right there with you. I just really enjoy the common fish and there is nothing wrong with that. There is a reason a lot of people want them. Anyway, Nice collection oh, and how big is your tank?

It is not about the expense of the fish, that is a big problem on this board, it is aout the FISH. A lot of people get some sort of ego boost by posting their supposed exotic fish, in a month they have moved on, no real love for the fish. Just the little bit of attention they get by having something they feel makes them cooler. It is really a shame.

Enjoy your fish, that is the key.

BTW your "common" carpintis looks exactly like one of the "exotics" that is the cream of the crop right now. Do something different raise your "common" carpintis to adulthood, nobody else will, they will trade it off in another month.

Common or not... Great looking fish.

As long as you can sit there and watch them loosing track of time then it dont matter if they common or exotic, as long as it makes you happy

And why are they the common ones? Is it because they were the only things around in the early 80's? Shows your longevity in the hobby. There goes another thread starter. Oscars and Firemouths are cool common Cichlids too.
