I'm a bit new to SA/CA cichlids, as I just recently purchased 3 Firemouths. After a day, 2 have already paired off, so I'll be taking the "3rd wheel" back to the LFS. Would a convict of similar size be ok with the 2 firemouths?

12 gal. 21" L x 11-1/2" W x 17-1/2" H.
The Firemouths are maybe an inch long and the convict would be similar size. I have a larger tank that they will be going to when they're a little bigger. I'm also putting more rocks and some driftwood in the current tank for more hiding places and more territorial "zones".

Gotcha... Tank just looks pretty empty with the 3 of them, so I know it'll look even more so when I take the 3rd out. So don't add any fish, or just not a convict?
