Hi I just recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop that is 1 year and a half old. The previous operating system was Windows Vista. After installing it I tried installing the drivers and it wouldnt work. When I unzip the files for the drivers it tells me that I dont have the right driver for this system. What do you guys think it is?

I think you just bumped him one entire spot up lol. Good luck with your PC man, very very aggravating.

It says that the drivers are not supported by this operating system, meaning windows 7 doesnt support it. OMG.....I dont want to go back to Vista!

What was the vista operating bit? 32 or 64? and ur windows 7? make sure both are the same and if not just have to go download the correct driver version for windows 7.

Just take a breath and get some sleep, once all the computer guys get to work in the morning they will instead of doing work, get on here and fart around, then seeing your thread, and then try to help you. Run on sentences are cool.

Okay I found out a way to get the drivers now. I went to Dell's website to download the drivers. They have the Window 7 64 bit drivers for me to download. Thank You all who tried to help :)

EDIT: Dell doesnt have the driver files for me to download :( :irked:

I would wipe the computer and install Windows 7 from scratch, I have had endless problems from performing an upgrade from Vista. For one, Adobe flash, it screwed something up during the upgrade and I can never load sites that need flash, it has the bar up the top to install flash even though I have the latest, I choose to go ahead anyway to install it so the site loads, but no luck, I have even tried to uninstall it completely, then reinstall, still no good. Then again, it loads pages sometimes with no issue. I am going to install it from scratch again, just need to find the time, I have so much stuff installed like my media centre streaming software for one, which has halted the scheduled maintenance as I couldnt be stuffed setting everything up again....

When I installed Windows 7 I didnt keep the drivers. I thought installing the drivers would be as easy as doing it on Vista.

Yes, you can do that. It upgrades, but it is not ideal. I would suggest a fresh install. You can go to Device Manager an update the drivers, or go to the manufactures website.
