Computer problems :(

What might cause a computer to restart itself sporadically? Rallysman's computer has started doing this and when it boots back up a box pops up saying that the system has recovered from a serious error. I scanned for viruses and found nothing. Could it be a hardware problem?

I had that happen when a connection inside the computer had come slightly loose

Blaster worm. Are you running antivirus software, or have you run windows update at all?

To me it soundls ike you're comp is over heating. Either that or the power supply is faulty.

If its a software problem, then its spyware or a trojan. Try having your computer
scanned online at trendmicro to see if you have a trojan horse.

As for hardware, it could be a overheated power supply like someone said . You didnt do anything unusual before the reboot like upgrade your bios right?

The one time I had problems with over heating it turned out just to be cat fur blocking the vents. Those little fans do wear out though, they are not expensive and easy to replace.

if you can get it to reboot in safe mode go tosearch window and type scan disc then run a window scan disk check
