Computer Speed Test

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hehe.
This won´t be an upgrade to the newest and most pricey technology, but with the help of my friend Carsten we plan to build a "silent pc" with at least modern components.
CPU will be Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 motherboard @ 2GB DDR 800 RAM

Nice time there. Just ran the test and came out at 35 secs and definitely silent here also.

Mainboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
2GB DDR2 800 CL4
XFX 7900GT 256MB

Need to tweak some settings. Ram is running at 5-5-5-15 instead of the 4-4-4-12 that it's supposed to run at. :)

Edit: Overclocked results
Core 2 Duo 6600 OC to 3.6GHz
Ram timing 400MHz at 4-4-4-12
Time: 23 seconds

Hi Eric,
now i see your added informations. That´looking better.
Although i don´t claim myself being an overclocker, i did some BIOS changes to get that CL4-4-4-12 rate, too. And talking about hard disks, i´m using two Samsung Spinpoint T HD401LJ. Fast and (did i already mentioned it?) silent - especially inside the SilentMAXX HD-silencer case.

Yeah, it was actually nice to edit in Nikon Capture last night. Used to wait for that darn program to crank through the pictures. Now it just crunches through them.

Just ran the same test on the Dell at work today.

Pentium D 840 (dual 3.20GHz; 800MHz FSB)
2 GB ram (4-4-4-11) - 266MHz
1 min 30 sec
