Con Solo the Convict

Haven't attached a video in a little while. He occasionally gets a little bossy with the swordtails when he thinks it's time to eat. This is really about as aggressive as he gets with them, apart from that one little breeding phase he was in a few months back. I feel like I'm constantly talking about how him getting more and more comfortable with me but it's true. At this point hand feeding is kind of a regular occurrence, he'll peck the pellets from my fingers before I drop them. The little dude is as fun as ever right now.

This entire thread is fantastic - what sort of filtration do you have on Con Solo’s tank? Do you think any other dithers would work as well as the swordtails?

Thank you! The 75 just has an fx4 on it. Looking back I'd probably actually go with hang on backs though. The fx4 works fantastic, just could be kind of a pain when it's time to clean it. I bet most other livebearers would work with him. I've actually been considering maybe swapping the swordtails with platties in the future. I definitely underestimated the aggression of the swordtails, both the males and females get pretty nippy. I find it kind of ironic that Solo is the most docile fish in the tank.

5 swordtails. Started off with 6, but a while back I removed a very small male that was really taking a beating from the others.

Short vid and a few pics from today. Just a couple more weeks until the one year mark since getting the little guy.

Looks like Solo has also gotten into another one of his bully phases. He’s dug out a sort of depression in the sand on the back left corner of tank and has been in patrol mode.
