It looks really good with the sand and gravel. Just be careful when cleaning not to mess it up!

Definitely not. A bite from your wolf fish, probably going to be some blood and bandages involved lol.My mollies used to do that, always funny to watch. Not something I want my wolf fish or cichlids doing lol
He’s a small guy now, but I can see him licking his lips when I clean the tank. Much more fearless than the piranha I had…though tbh I’d still bet on an angry convict biting before a wolf lolDefinitely not. A bite from your wolf fish, probably going to be some blood and bandages involved lol.
Didn’t even think about mixing a small amount darker color sand. Going to look into that. And I definitely do want to do floating cover in this tank, from what I’ve read that can make a world of difference with cichlids. I had an idea this morning so decided to go ahead and try it. I grabbed two small bags of the most natural color gravel I can find so that I can kind of disperse it around the sand. Just did a little for now to see if I liked it and I think it’s an improvement. I might return the second bag and grab a slightly darker tan gravel that they also had. Lemme know what you guys think. Just kind of experimenting right now, when the wood comes I’ll probably move things around a little bit.

They're just getting the flavor!Speaking of cleaning, something I thought was funny. I almost regret had feeding these swordtails because now they relentlessly nip at my hands lol. They’ve caught me off guard a couple times siphoning and made me jump. Hopefully Con Solo doesn’t catch on, I’ve seen his little teeth and they don’t seem playful. ?
