I think I'm going to go ahead try out the hornwort for a floating plant. One of the lfs in my area sells hornwort so I can pick it up whenever. Is there any risk with putting live plants directly into the aquarium?

I put mine right in, but I have a high level of trust when buying from The Wet Spot my LFS.
I have read that some people do dips in bleach, if I remember right. I don't remember the dilution amount tho.

Generally it’s okay as long as you don’t mind any snails, scuds, or any other inverts coming in.

Thanks for the info guys. Gonna read up on all the things mentioned and the best ways to address them. The store is Absolutely Fish btw, probably one of the more popular stores in NJ. I definitely trust them but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
From what I've seen their live plants are always separated from the rest of the tanks, but I'll be sure to ask. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you ever find yourself in North Jersey. Basically have been going there since I was a toddler. It's an awesome store especially if you lean more towards saltwater.
Decided to take a ride and pick up the hornwort just a little while ago. Currently I just have them in bucket of tank water temporarily. There were fish in the system with the plants so I’m going to do some form of disinfection to be safe. Fortunately Liveaquaria.com has a page with super clear instructions on how to find and remove any hitchhikers as well as some different disinfection methods.
So the power went out today for a few hours while I was at work, maybe 5 ish hours. Came home, fish are all good but now the heater on Con Solo’s tank isn’t working. Perfect timing too, right as the nights start dropping into the 30s and 40s. The tanks are in the basement so it gets chilly down here in the fall and winter. I’m considering moving Con Solo into the 75 tomorrow. For tonight I’ll keep my space heater nearby. The swords have been in there for 4 weeks now. What do you guys think, is 4 weeks a safe amount time?
