12AM midnight fade to black
Activity stops as all fish disappear into hidey holes and caves. Only the 2 tank bosses continue to patrol before the tank goes completely dark.

transitions to black in 5 minutes. Total blackout from 12:05 - 5:55 AM then transitions back to 6 AM mode.

Notice the amber/magenta/blue/blue violet light is flatter in the 125 vs the 225. Depth affects the light along with substrate color, decor and background. Below is some 40ppi poret foam I ordered but the stuff clogs so bad I repurposed it as light blockers. Depending on how I turn it highlights and shadows move forward or back. Gives a nice doppled or spotlight effect and reduces algae.

First month of quarantine completed for Leia. I was originally aiming for 6 weeks of qt, but I'm considering just extending to a full 2 months to be safe. She's still doing great and has colored up a bit more. Some days her fins have this beautiful blue. I'll attach a picture of it. She may be more gluttonous than Solo too. She'll charge full speed at my fingers when I go to drop in pellets. Hasn’t managed to nip me yet though. Other times she'll splash water out of the tank as soon as I open the lid. I'm hoping she keeps this same demeanor after being put in the 75, since she is quite the character.
Leia’s move in day is getting closer and closer. Only about 2 weeks away now. I’m starting to wonder if there’s anything I can do to increase her odds of a safe introduction to the tank? I’d be lying if I said a wasn’t a bit worried about how Solo will react to the whole thing. He’s about as docile as it gets with the swordtails, but those are swordtails. Not another cichlid. Part of me thinks the 75 will give Leia more than enough space to get away from an angry Solo, but the thought of things going drastically wrong is still in the back of my head. I’m probably overthinking this whole thing

If she's anything like some of the female hrps I have you might want to worry about Solo more, lol. I laughed every time Speck chased and intimidated her huge brothers. It was the most ridiculous thing you'd ever want to see, they were like 4-5x her size. Her crazy dive bomb attacks freaked them out. To be fair she and daughter Harelquin are the two most hyper aggressive female hrps I currently have. Harlequin is in temporary digs with cousins and sisters. Speck is paired with the perfect tankmate in Kong, my female kamikaze blood parrot. Speck's antics get shut down quick.
Of course Solo might take one look at her and start twirling...
