condensation

Hi all
Just got an African mudskipper, trouble is i cant see him as the glass keeps misting up. Dose any one know how to stop this without affecting the humidity in my tank

You could raise the temperature of the room. If the glass temperature is lower than the dewpoint of the humidity level you will get condensation. Therefore you must raise the temperature of the glass.

Use a magnetic glass/acrylic wiper?
 
How important is it to keep the humidity up? The easiest solution is probably to slide the lid back a little to open up a 1/4" gap at the front edge of the tank. This will clear up the front pane, but will also drop your humidity a bit.

How much room do you have in there? If you have space, you can install a small CPU/case fan inside the tank and direct it blow towards the front glass. I use fans to circulate the air in my paludarium. The circulation setup doesn't clear up the glass quite as well as a ventilation system, but it does help a bit while keeping the humidity high.

At the moment i have a mud skipper in there but was hoping to get some fiddler crabs as well, both need some humidity . I was thinking about a cpu fan but wasn't shore if it would survive in a humid tank, this is my first tank of this type and i don't want to mess things up. A few days ago it was colder here than in Reykjavík so can't ventilate and i can't afford to run central heating 24/7 . Yeh i think it is going to have to be the cpu fan
