Confused Again

They get too big, eat too much, eat everything and become territorial and when you finally want to give them up, nobody wants them.

Ok I'm probably mistaken here, the LFS around here commonly mis-id stuff and common plecos are also labeled clown plecos. So if you have real Panaque maccus then it might be good.

yeah, they look very different that most plecos I see, very orangish in color and has black/brown stripes.

They get far better looking once they mature. Ya get a nice black, white and orange stripping pattern all the way down the fish. Got this pic from Google of a sub adult.

Well never had any adult clown plecs, they tend to be just a hair more aggressive then a bushy nose is. Kept plenty of bushy nose plecs tho and they never seemed to cause any problems except for the other bottom dwelling fish like catfish. I've had a pollar parrot tho and from what I've seen they tend to cap out at the size of a golfball, only down side to them that I noticed is they end up with the aggression level of the convict cichlid so I don't recommend putting them in with other cichlids. Never had a jellybean parrot but I would assume they get as big as a regular BP would, considering most are just regular BP's with added colors. If you don't like the bushy nose I would recommend getting a rubberlip instead, they tend to be very chill and grow just a lil slower as most of their growth is focused on making their head wider. Also if you want to spend a Lil more $ on a nice mini plec, I would recommend getting either a ranger pleco or a red lizard pleco. With the red lizard your looking at anywhere between $10-$30 on average and for a ranger for looking at $12-$30 on average.
