i think malaysian gold is the same as XB and pahang gold.. HBRTG is produced by crossing the XB to a RTG then inbreeding them over and over again. so i think that's why there is a HBRTG that has a full crossing of its shine ( due to the genes of XB ) but there are also HBRTG that has only a 6th level shine or has specks of gold in the back of a HBRTG. MALAYSIAN GOLD is not extinct.

It is. That's why people don't use that name, but Xback or whatever other name they come up with. True Malaysian Gold has no red in the tail. It looks like a swimming gold bar!

There is where the confusion arises, the OPs original question.

Our whole quarrel is over the inability of the OPs use of anything close to understandable grammar:screwy:

Probaby even in captive, too, due to crossing with RTG. I saw a huge one at Sea World in San Diego back in 1995, but it's no longer there since 2002. Even those show piece keepers goldenhead xback from farms in Indo or Malay with a lot of gold still has some red in the tail :(

even the absolute gold from pang long?

i don't know where you get the idea of the XB or malaysian gold being extinct. i frequently see alot of Xback arowanas in the nearby LFS that dont have a red tail. malaysian gold is just another term for XB or pahang gold. i always saw some 24k malaysian golden arowana that has no red tail.

Do your home work. Xback is just a production of Malaysian Gold. It's on the higher end of the batch, that look close to Malaysian Gold. Saying a Malaysian Gold is the other name of Xback is backward like saying father looks like son, instead of son looks like father :screwy: Next time you see a 24K Malaysian Gold with absolute no red in the tail or finnage, make sure take a good picture, since I haven't seen one in a decade!

i really don't know what you're trying to share.. why do i need to take a picture of the fish that LFS are selling? you can look at your own computer and you can see alot of malaysian golden that don't have red tail or whatever.

or are you trying to say that farmers have infused the blood of a RTG to todays xbacks so that is the reason why xbacks have red on their tail? you only saw 1 actual xback/malaysian gold arowana and you say that they're extinct. try going to malaysia or singapore or any other asian countries then say if malaysian gold/xback is really extinct. there are arowanas that throw odd colors so that is why there is a red tailed xb or a cross back that dont have a red tail.. it is same as breeding gamefowls breed two yellow colored chickens and there is a percentage that 1 of their offspring will throw a red, white or even whatever color nature wants.

MALAYSIAN GOLDEN IS JUST ANOTHER TERM FOR XBACK OR PAHANG GOLD or vise versa.
