Remind me again what differences were we talking bout?
Not sure if you remember these photo of the bichirs at Lake Tanganyika (Zambia).
They are all Polypterus sp. aff. "Congicus" aka Giselas Bichir.

Not really an actual congicus due to not having a pair of racing stripes on the forehead. Also the stripes on the mid section actually does not go all the way down and actually breaks off kind forming a broken line or close to ansorgii mid section but even farther apart.

Polypterus congicus have twin stripes on the forehead similar to Polypterus bichir bichir and Polypterus bichir lapradei. While Polypterus sp. aff. "Congicus" have circular patterns on the forehead similar to Polypterus endlicheri.

Caveden Caveden Giselas bichirs. They might actually be congis but we'll see as we learn more about them. There have only been 2 imports into the aquarium trade (both in 2021).
