Connecting 2 tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's simple to do man I combined two 75 so broke out the side on each tank with a hammer added some caulk bam I had a 150g. I used a piece of wood for center brace I even painted it black to look factory. The reason I did that was because I couldn't fit a big tank up the stairs in my apartment so I found a resolution.

I could not sleep at night knowing that tank could bust at any moment.

WHen I had my 125, I was worried it'd break since the front bowed so much.

Had a used 150 sit in my garage ecause bubbles formed on the corner silicone.

In my 15-20 years of fish keeping I've heard too many stories of busted new tanks. Ghetto rigged tanks is out of the question.

Gallons do not determine glass thicknees, height does. If its the same height (which it would be), it would not need to be any thicker.

True about the height part, but if the tank is longer than it will bow more, so thickness can still be an issue

I love how reckless this thread is! We need photo documentation! I say give er' hell, just fill it near a drain and without fish the first time...where's my popcorn and banjo? i will say this is pretty 'redneck' even by my standards.
