cons

I believe males also tend to have longer fins. I currently have two females and one male. The male tried pairing up with the female but she picked a bad location and the eggs got eaten. Then he paired up with the other one, she picked a good location and now I have fry in my tank. Now the male appears to be spending his time between protecting the fry and trying to court the other female.

I am considering getting them a dedicated tank because I can see that there will be issue with the other fish if I have two sets of fry going at once.

my male is only half the size of the female...could that be the reason for no fry ?

i dought it because my female is 1/3 the size of my male vice versa and they are fine with eachother and have spawned many times. just give them time it took my cons 1 1/2 months to spawn...have you seen eggs or your females stomach getting very large...your female might not be fertile or the same for your male. but just give them time and they will eventually breed like rabbits

thanks for info everyone
