There is some compaction for sure, not as strong as it could be. But his right eye is bigger than his left and it's white inside, he only has an earflap on one side, his tail grew in like a blob and you can see the thickness in his "shoulder" area, too. His back is also far more arched than it should be. Looks more obvious in person, to be honest. But he is a defect museum all the way.

Nope, still a regular panfish to me. I know about fishing more than I know about FH myself. I've come across millions and billions of panfish. Seen pure, hybrids, and even albino. All varieties of deformed. That is just a regular. As for the tail, I can't recall anything with it other than it being deformed or a broken tail.

Hello Izzy, I have actually been in touch with you ...recently about my SB tex and the breeding etc :P..Nice to catch up wit you on here. As you know im a huge SB fan as well, so I will add some pics of mine, including what I have produced.

First, the picture of the one surviving baby , including some pictures of him with his mom (shes the larger of the two in the pic with the two texas' sparring), the third pic is the father (now sold)... and my SB Flowerhorn who is currently fading..I thought was a male (due to the small kok developing but im 90% sure now is a female.., and as of now pairing up with my SB Tex baby (who im 90% sure is a male), So I keeping my fingers crossed that they produce some SB Tex X SB FH fader fry for me!!
I am also hopping to get a really nice High quality Male(s) SB flowerhorn next spring to try on my female tex and/or others. I also have one other SB red dragon growing out, and one female kirrin neither of which are shown here. ENjoy!:nilly:

**also added one pic of the SB tex I bred as a tiny fry..He was seperated early out of well over 200 babies who all turned out to be short body, but I lost them due to an ammonia spike :( ..

As for improving, the one baby that did make it is very healthy, and an improvement on both of his parents

Here are a couple pics of my female kirrin, her colors are much more bright in person with yellows blues and red mixed...., but tend to change with her surroundings, her head is ugly but i love her fins they are perfect IMO and she has a lot of pealing, bred to the right male she could contribute some good things..

.as well as a pic of my impossible to photograph SB RD male that im growing out, overall im not overly excited with him but when he is happy he turns the deepest red I have ever seen in a FH in person..so im keeping him for now to see how he matures..

I love that fish Nick, aside from the tail he is pretty impressive.

Thanks, he was suppose to be a monster kok flowerhorn, but well he turned out to be a short body. lol What i love is he is so small but has a monster attitude.

Found some Old pics of my SB tex pair, that created the fish in the first pic of my post above, Here is one of the couple and one of my male which I have since sold. Enjoy!

I agree. The tail is very obviously set far to low and is very misshapen. If you look at the peduncle of the panfish in question you can clearly see it is shorter than it should be, the body appears to be slightly atrophied in that area. Definitely a short body fish.

Um....are we looking at the same pic? Cause from your post it doesn't sound that way.
