Consideration's when choosing short body fish.

If I'm gonna sell him that cheap I think I know some one locally that will be very interested. Hooking up a friend is always cool and less stressful than shipping him to a stranger.

Who did you buy from? Maybe the Aquabid pic is on the best of the batch and Titus was just one of the other fish from the batch.

That is a distinct possibilty, I'd have to look up the name but it doesn't matter. I'd prefer not to mention a name anyway because I dont have all the facts and I dont want seem like I'm mudslinging.

I already found it and checked out what he was selling so it doesn't look like the case to me.
 
A little FH (or BP) goes a looooooooong way in the project's I have planned. Each of them will be much like what I did with the texas.

I can't wait to have things to this point, nothing but pure species and or sb versions thereof. I wont have to worry about figuring out what type they are, theres only two types they can be. Short or long.
 
It'd be neat to see synspila bred this way, I don't think I have the room in my house for that, lol! I'd want several 125's to even contemplate that sort of project, possibly even several ponds.


edit:
Synspila can be tricky to hybridize and still get fertile males. Not sure how many times you'd have to breed an sb female back to a pure male to get fertile sb males.

Well it depends on what you are breeding, if you are crossing Amphilophus with another Amphilophus its gonna be fertile but if your crossing Amphilophus with say Herichthys then you are crossing outside the genus and can get sterility.
 
Or Amphilophus to synspila, midas and syn are used heavily in making fh, bp have a fair amount of midas and syn blood too.

Nuh uh, blood parrots are make with a red devil and severum!
