CONVICT HELP

They are wierd things thats forsure, we had bred convicts for awhile but all we did was made sure there were females and males and lots of hiding spaces and boom there were babies. DId no less and no more, than a friend of our wanted to breed them so we gave her our main breeding pair and she put them in a 125 with other fish(ours were in a 35) and she has had them now for a year and they have done nothing.
 
nope i got them at two different times from two different stores.... but has any had pvc work?

Iused pvc but nothing happened so i got a couple of rock caves and plants and boom there were babies.
 
Mine paired up after about a week with nothing. I made some caves out of rocks. After about a month I found babies.
 
i had two in a ten while the big tank cycled, in two weeks, they laid eggs on the heater because there was nothing else in the tank. just give it time
 
alright i will get some rocks and clay pots and soem plants
 
yes i went to take out the cllesuem and there was like 50 plus eggs how do i know if they are fertilized they are like orangey red
 
they are most likely fetilized, they will turn white and grow fungus if they are not
 
might want to add dithers to the tank. I figured, and IME, that dithers helped speed up the process. i had a pair in a 55gal with nothing but the pair in, and the male ripped the fins from the female and so on. then i add some (4) elct. labs to the tank and a week later....eggs.
 
alright how long to they hatch and what do i doo just feed them very fine food
