What kind of sword plant is it in the photo showing the red points getting friendly?

Looks like a red melon sword to me.

Jexnell, you could throw in some floating plants to decrease the intensity of the light in places for your swordtails.

I tried that with some water lettuce, it kept getting sucked into the currents and tumbled around so moved it to the Betta tank. Need to make one of them damns out of airline that floats, to hold the floaters out of the currents.

The body count....

Day two or three of having this group of fish we had two days of 99° heat. I lost a FM and a Swordtail. Attributed the deaths to the heat as there was no outward signs of anything else. A few days later in the morning there was two more Swordtails that passed. I tested the water parameters and they were normal 0/0/10.
Another day three more drop dead. Finally the last three each pass away singally. None of them had any outward appearance of anything wrong. No torn up fins from the cichlids or anything like that. There have been no other fish deaths just the Swords and the one FM.
I guess the Swords are just weak genetic wise, no other clue to there demise save the one during the heat. So I am just going to leave things be and monitor to make sure no one else drops dead for no reason before I replace the Swords with either a different type or maybe just get more Tetras and make it a huge group of 40 or maybe another group of 20 Tetras like Bleeding hearts.

Love the idea, I have always been partial to Honduran red points.

Also add some nanoleutus

Overnight the pair dug out a pit in front of their cave. We may have swimmers soon, I can't see in the cave so don't know for sure if we have fry already.

Plant update:

The two Wisteria dropped all they came with and are now floating. But both plants have lots of new growth. 20190628_183447.jpg20190628_183436.jpg

The Swords are doing great as well, both have 3 or so new leaves since planting.

The Anubis as well has new leaves

At first I had the lights on full blast around 12 hours a day. Thinking not being a plant light it needs to be on longer. Started to get algae growing on the leaves. Changed it down to just 6 hours of bright light. Rest of the day it gets a dull light, just one click of each blue green red white on the adjustable LEDs. Seems to be working a lot better. The algae is gone from the leaves and I have some good growth going on.
