Convict x Blood Parrot

so i got a call from an old friend today asking if i wanted her fish. i went over to find some odd looking little guys i knew right away were hybrids. the mother was still with them and shes a convict, my friend said the father was a blood parrot cichlid. the babies are 2-3" and all have different markings, a couple have some patches that suggest they will turn out orange like their dad. i know they wont turn out to be some magnificent monsters but they seem pretty unique to me. i will post pics tomorrow when i get them home. my questions are;
has anyone heard of or bread this cross themselves?
will they peal to orange like a parrot?
 
The cross are sometimes referred to as Jellybean Convicts. To be honest I think they are ugly little fish, but im not fond of ballooned fish. Convicts are great how they are.
Im calling BS though, Something about a blood parrot father seems off. :screwy:
 
cool never seen a BP convict hybrid where the father was parrot. its rare for a male BP to be fertile, guess he was jus lucky

While they are commonly referred to as Jellybean, Jellybeans are actually short body pink convicts.
 
well if the father is a parrot then thats a magical fish your bro has.... I have done male strip cons with female flowerhorns before, there a great temperment, they have con personality... if the con is stripped im guessing they will be barred- to light barred.. I doubt youll get pure orange.... but you never know with hybrids thats the fun part!!!!
