Well I decided to try my hand at breeding again. So I have a male and female pink convicts again. So far they were aggressive but since adding more cover they are behaving more passively, the female has started following the male around as well.

I'm not to picky, The lfs had only pinks and these 2 were on the last 4 they had. $4 apiece for them.

Some will go to some local lfs and the others will go to feeders for my senegal bichirs, orangespot sunfish, and my bluegill.

cute..but what size tank is that?

5.5,its a temporary untill I can get a 20 gallon long of talk my mom into letting me set up my 30. theyre still pretty small so the tank is ok for the moment.

Really if your just breeding them for food, they will be fine, I see people do 2 pair divided in 10gal

Let the love making begin.

A few updates, I moved the 2 convicts into the 55 gallon and bought another male. Well the original male paired off with my 3.5" female pink con and there are now roughly 100-130 eggs in a flower pot and she is still fairly plump. After they hatch how long should I wait until I move them into the 10 gallon for raising them?
