It looks like this one is female, seems like it's stressed and washed out. But there appears to be orange on it's belly. Same for the smaller one. But the beat up one seems like it may be male. But that could go either way. Let em settle in though, they seem stressed out as mentioned. Once they settle their colors will look better.

dumb question though... should I remove all the other tank mates?
I know leaving them alone is the best... but would it stress them out less if I removed the tank mates now instead of later cause im going to either way lol...

I'm lucky I have two female convicts, never have to worry about fry. From what I can tell convicts are all bark and no bite. All they do is try to scare the other fish through intimidation, this doesn't work with a worthy adversity. Fry or no fry my oscar would beat down any convict just for sport then take their fry as snacks lol I do admire convicts for their spunk though, they try to boss my leporinus around, but the leporinus just ignores them or chases them. Although entertaining, their constant bullying of other fish becomes an annoyance and for that reason I put them in with the oscars for a taste of their own medicine.
well if the Plecos in there are common plecos you need at LEST a 75 gallon tank for that stock oh and what kind of catfish do you have oh and freshwater aquarium salt will help most pet stores have it oh and tap tap conditioner will help and the convicts will probably kill the community fish when they get older but the convicts just need some time to settle in convicts are asome beginner fish
Well I don't have plecos... Just lfs algae eaters get bout 10" but they are temp in there... Also use black water extract to calm... (aqua scape advised) so I'll just leave em alone... Already getting better color from the one... SHE looks to have an orange circle by gills/belly
i really think 2 convicts for a 29 gallon tank is enough they will murder your community fish as i said trying to help avoid a thread like this (my community fish are missing ,why) if you want more than 2 convicts you can get some loches such as koolie loach but you can get 2 kuli loach or 1 clown loach
