hey.. fish are not better than women.. you're just looking at the wrong women. lol.
i seem to be having the same issues with men, i say "i have fish" and they say "how big is your aquarium" and i say "which one?".. and when they find out that i have 9 aquariums that average more than 100 gallons each and more in the works they RUN.. FAST even..

Later (with a pet sitting service) I had 2 Pacu and a couple other fish in a 125 gallon tank. I had made the mistake of using the suction cup mounts (instead of the clamps) to hold the powerheads on top of the uplift tubes.
Came home from a 1 week vacation, knew something was wrong when we opened the front door. One of the powerheads had been bumped off and was pointing upwards. It had shot approx 20 gallons of water out. The carpet was damp for a few feet in each direction.
We asked the pet-sitter when it happened (as we were worried about mold). She said she 'hadn't noticed' any problems with the tank
The imperative thing here is not to let "anyone" do "anything" to your aquariums. I am trying to educate my wife but she only listens for seconds at a time and tells me to talk about it later. Right now she only likes to look and it's only a matter of time before she decides to get involved while I'm not home and I'll be adding a thread of my own on this topic.
idk, i explained everything to my husband when we got the first tank, and the first rule is he doesnt touch. he knows how to do it now but id have to be very very sick before i let him touch my babies. He even set a 5ft up in his office at work and i let him feed them but travel to do the maintance every weekend..
