okkk....i have a female almost 7-8inches now....thinking to introduce a male ....any suggestions?

Per your assumption I would use the tank divider before your introduce the new fish, even if you were right the female still can be territorial aggressive and might kill the new fish.

That's a very young fish, and a bit obese too, I would reduce its diet.

The head shape changes as it grows, by the time it reaches 15-17".

And the shape of head is to be looked at from top, and the difference is very subtle, so it's very apparent when you see two fish side by side.
