Cool/Rare sighting off Panama City Beach!

This big girl made an appearance at the pier. Basking sharks arent too common up here in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. We do see whale sharks pretty frequently. That kayak is 12-14ft so Im guessing the shark to be at least 20ft!

I don't think you could fish out a shark that large with a regular fishing pole all you'd do is hurt the animal needlessly. I'm happy no one tried to catch it.

Hook it for what? No one that's pier fishing would have the equipment to land a shark that size. Plus depending on what kind of shark it is, it could also be one hell of a fine if someone did hook it on purpose. I'm glad everyone acted responsibly and left it alone.

I think they did yell to 'em Near the end you hear them saying "look down below you" and him yell back 'er something.
