thats sweet, they are quite the things, you can see them from shore in the summer sometimes up here and they even look big from a few hundred feet away

Hook it for what? No one that's pier fishing would have the equipment to land a shark that size. Plus depending on what kind of shark it is, it could also be one hell of a fine if someone did hook it on purpose. I'm glad everyone acted responsibly and left it alone.
