Maybe i should rephrase that. In your opinion, whats the MOST ATTRACTIVE school / shoal of fish. Specifically that could be kept in smaller tanks, 75 gallons and under. Freshwater or saltwater.

Post a pic if you can

I was thinking exodons

exoduns are really cool
rummeynose tetras, clown loaches, barbs are a really nice schoaling fish.

oh yea, just so theres no confusion, they are not mine. just a google image search

for salt i would say a good school of SGT MJRS or P.J. cardinal fish.

for fresh i like the way pearl gouramis school. second to neons or cardinal tetras

green glowfish, cardinal tetra, harliquen rasbora, glass catfish.

i would say blue reef chromis or tangs, but they need a bigger tank for schools, the chromises might work tho.

a couple of the selections i named arent that showy, but i found them to be attractive fish,
any type of tetra or rasboras have really been done to death in tanks so you might want something different then every body else, but it really depends on what you have planned for the tank. perhaps planted?

edit: if your going down the salt road be committed because a few pieces of equipment require a sizeable investment.

I have around 20 rummynoses in my firemouth tank, best schoolers i have seen, swim in a tight pack. Also my bronze corys school around a lot more than my loaches.

as far as pics go, i dont have a camera capable of shooting a tetra lol.

Cardinal tetras or a cardinal/rummy nose mix. I used to have a 55 gallon angel tank with a nice shoal of about half cardinals, half rummys and it was awesome

im gonna start checkin out the rummynose. must be something if more than a few people think so.

And i agree, the exodons might be getting played out.

As far as equipment goes, i have 3 saltwater and 1 freshwater aquarium. From mini-monster size down to nano reef. Im planning something new.

Keep the ideas (and pics hopefully) coming!
