Coolest school of fish ?!?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what is there to regret about the exodons? I understand the tank having to be species only? but why would you come to regret the fish themselves? Or is it just the fact that you could never add anything else to the tank that gets boring after a while?

rainbow fish would be a good one also as stated by a few, or rainbow and congo mix... now there's a tank

Buy yourself 10-15 Giant Danios and you will not be dissappointed... especially at feeding time. ;)

Neon tetras in thousands is still something I would love to do in a planted tank

Giant danio's
Or my personal favorite malawi eye biters!

I forgot glow lights in my last post. Glow lights mixed with cardinals and rummys is a nice sight. I'm going to have that arrangement in a small Amazon biotope I'm setting up soon as a growout for my tiny South American lungfish I just picked up

I personally wouldn't go with exodons...They are a waster of time..With most if not all of the other suggestions you could keep something with them if you wanted while exos are just a species only of pretty ugly fish...Most people I know who went with exo's in a decent sized tank have regretted it...

I personally would go for one of the larger species of rainbowfish, my fave being the reds, or a shoal of angels or discus :)

Corydoras are probally the coolest shoalers and there is so much variety. They are truely awsome fish :)

i find it odd when people say corys, i never see them in shoals in the wild. most are scattered and doing their own thing so idno if they can be considered a "schooling fish"?

you think their ugly?? man i think their perfectly proportioned fish, streamline and the metallic green shine they got when u see one up close in person under lights are hypnotic.

i could never find myself choosing this over an exodon though, just mho. in shape and appearance it reminds me of a prius or hatchback being compared to a vette / jetfighter.

they never get boring, the only time their boring is when im not there. at feeding time you wish they never could get full. thats about it.
