Not that his past matters but he is also a convicted criminal, with previous gun posession history.

Stupid thing is that Oakland PD have nothing to do with BART PD. Sad that they are destroying cars and stores in the name of this persons wrongful death. What kind of protest is that? Thou with any protest this is probably just a splinter group of rouge people....

Agreed ^ My cops friends have reviewed the tape and all agree, he probably mistook his gun for his taser.

Def. a messed up situation....
I'm just wondering, if his past doesnt matter then why mention it?

A taser was not needed AT ALL in this situation.

We dont know the entire situation...

Mentioned because he mentioned he was a father, not that that matters either....

Who mentioned that who was a father?

the guy DIED??
cops an idiot. should be behind bars. mistakes are fine, but when a mistake KILLS somebody, then its FAR from ok.

I think it does matter that he is a father. He has a little girl that will never see him again. It's sad that he had someone who looked up to him, trusted him, loved him, comfort, all those things and to just have it taken away. She will never have a dad in her life now, no one can replace him. I could not imagine life without my dad. I was a daddy's girl. It's hard to explain to a younger kid what happened when one of the parents die.

I don't care if it was a mistake or not, if I accidentally shot someone I would be charged. Anyone who shots a person can easily say it was a mistake, but they don't believe them. I think something should happen to this cop. On the other side this cop has to live with it for the rest of his life how he killed an innocent man. He will always remember that, but I still think he should do some time

Not all cops are like this, hope you dont ever need a cop one day... :screwy:

If you have a kid, imagine that kid being her age, and telling her that your father/mother was killed. Then to know in the back of your head nothing was done to this man, I don't see why a cop should get special treatments.

I was very far from the scene when it went down and I dont know what drew the cops attention to this man in the firs place but when someone has guns drawn on them I dont think that its weird for them to mention that they have children and would like to see them again.
