If you have a kid, imagine that kid being her age, and telling her that your father/mother was killed. Then to know in the back of your head nothing was done to this man, I don't see why a cop should get special treatments.

I agree that they would be useless in the field but don't you think that cops are getting carried away using these shooting tasers? A taser was not needed AT ALL in this situation, so if he had a hand taser or even better NO taser, this man would still be alive.

tasers aren't lethal. they won't kill you. they give you instant relief after being shocked. so what's the problem?

think of it this way. you have one clearly intoxicated person, who is rapidly getting violent. he decides to throw himself at a police officer. will the officer

B. use pepper spray (requiring the police officer to walk towards this intoxicated person)
C. discharge his taser from a safe distance harming no one in the end.

i agree but there have been cases of people being tasered to death. mostly if the person is hit on/above the chest.

But seriously, the situation you are describing is pretty different from the one in the video (not that that was or wasn't your point). I agree with the sentiment that tasers are overused, especially when the police already have the upper hand on the situation.

I think the percentage of cops on power trips is higher than it should be, but probably not quite 99.98%. (hopefully...)

I don't buy the whole "accident" theory one bit. If that police officer really thought he was using his taser than he is guilty of manslaughter, at the very least. Of all people they should know how to safely use a firearm. People get "accidentally" killed in convenience store robberies all the time. If the criminal thought that his gun wasn't loaded does that mean that he should be exonerated?

Well here are a couple other videos one guy makes some good points analyzing the video but just seems like a weird person. One of the big brother conspiracy people since he goes off on tangents about iraq . The other is a news clip that was on tv.


One thing is I think everyone can agree on is that he royally F^%!ed up. But Not all cops are bad and to same note not all cops are good. I personally think this guy is just a dumbass. He should be charged since this is not like they came around the corner and i thought they had a gun when it was some random object. The guy was down on the ground with 2 poeple holding him down. ive been arrested seen people get arrested and when you have 2 cops on you like that and there isnt anything you can do to get them off you unless your on pcp. but Im just curious as to why would he get off him to pull out a gun/tazer if they could have just cuffed him or if they had him cuffed already. Thats makes no sense to me



And protesters are protesters they all start out for a good cause usually but some end up causeing more problems.

you know, it used to be you became a cop to try and make a difference, now a days it just seems that "most" cops are douche bags, and they get in that line of work because they are on a power trip. I actually have a family member who is a cop, and he says everyday he works with them, the more he hates them.
